* What is the resin:
No one knows with absolute certainty why some trees secrete resin. Resin is a viscous, colorless liquid secreted by certain species of coniferous trees (mainly pine) when hurt. Northern Evia is the largest resin producer region in Greece.
Resin belongs to balms and consists of turpentine, rosin acids and high molecular weight alcohols. It is applied today as an antiseptic treatment for diseases of the urinary tract and the lungs, while it is used in the cosmetic medicine as a basic ingredient of beauty and skin nutrition.
