-How did you come up with the idea of Nadeen shoes?
In 2012 I started to paint tales on shoes, a job that excited me so much that I keep on painting from morning till night. This idea started from a picture. In the Athens metro people kept going and coming all with heads down, hunched, everyone to their own thoughts and problems.
Then I imagined that if they all wore painted shoes their life would become brighter, more optimistic and colorful. Looking down and facing many colors, a man, what the heck, would develop a smile on his face and would see his life with greater optimism. This is therefore my aim. Wearing Nadeen shoes you become lighter and can fly!
-How did you come up with such a name for your shoes?
I had been trying a long time to decide what name to give to my shoes. I had to have a name ... but none of them fit me. Until that light struck my head and I started jumping up with joy!
I remembered the first word you my son said when he was one year old, when he usually stumbled or in the evening before he fell asleep and we said laughing that it was the name of his patron angel, watching him!
“Nadine, Nadine” ... he would cry and we stared right and left lest we saw any feather hovering!
So - with the permission of the angel - my shoes will get the name: Nadeen ...
And when a little doubt came as to whether there might be something better I could come up with, my angel whispered in my ear the first three letters of his name which happened to be the initials of our family names (Nikiforos - Alexandros - Dimitra)!
-What is the most bizarre order one has requested you to make?
The strangest custom order was to paint fuchsia boots with scenes from Greece and Japan! Or to paint their faces!
-Where do you attribute the great success of both Nadeen Shoes;
The success of the sandals is due to the fact that I paint them with love and I give my whole self with joy and zest. And this has an immediate impact on the woman who wishes to own such a pair!
-Which designs are most in demand?
Designs with flowers and seafood issues are number one in demand! Sandals and platforms mainly.
